Westminster Business School, London, 5th April 2018: Nearly a hundred Westminster Business School students showcased their business start-ups in front of prospective investors, VCs, fellow entrepreneurs, industry mentors, Alumni, journalists and like-minded peers during our Let’s Start Up! Pop Up Festival.
The event aimed to accelerate the approach of learning-by-doing and to celebrate entrepreneurship in all its creative forms. Participation was an integral assessment criteria of BA Entrepreneurship, BA Business Management (Entrepreneurship) and MSc Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Enterprise Development programmes and gave students the unique opportunity to promote and demonstrate their own aspiring projects—ranging from fashion through gastronomy to advertising—in a real-life entrepreneurial context. The Pop Up Festival was designed to help talented and ambitious individuals to validate their ideas, commercialise their products, boost their confidence to do business and to receive support from potential customers, business partners and future team members. Prospective investors, Alumni and other participants, in turn, were able to meet many talented young entrepreneurs and to learn about various promising businesses.
In addition, three of our students were awarded special prizes - congratulations to them!
Best MVP 2018: Mr Tej Shah — B Glass
Most Developed Product / Service 2018: Miss Shagun Singhal — Auto fix
Best Social Innovation Idea 2018: Miss Miltiana Miltiado — EquusPro
Speaking about the event, Dr. Jane Chang, Course Leader for BA Entrepreneurship and Project Leader for PPE Westminster, stated the importance of the Pop Festival: “We were more than excited to have this event at the Business School; it helped our students and participants reach their full potential and gain practical insights into the lifestyle of a true entrepreneur.”
